What qualifications do ILCSA teachers have?
Every instructor must be a native speaker of the language he/she teaches and hold at least a Bachelor’s degree. Many have advanced degrees and experience teaching overseas.

Absolutely. Our English teachers are from the U.S., our Spanish teachers are from México and Latin America, our French teachers from France and Canada, our Portuguese teachers from Brazil, etc.
Can ILCSA help me obtain the I-35 student visa?
No. ILCSA does not require nor provide any type of student visa. It is legal to study at our school for the duration of your tourist visa, but you may not use our school as a reason to gain entrance or extend your stay in the U.S.
Can I pay in payments?
Yes. With our easy payment plan, you may pay installments of tuition as you study.
Is financial aid available?
Not at this time.
What level will I be in?
Students with no knowledge of the language they wish to study are not required to take a placement exam and enter Level 1 directly. Those with a background of language study are given a free assessment.
What If I have to go on vacation or miss some classes?
The administrative staff will be happy to arrange complementary study sessions to help you recuperate missed time. Our programs recognize the needs of working adults. We will work with you.
What is the “communicative method”?
The communicative method is a style of teaching. The principal objective of this method is to acquire speaking skills. Reading, writing and listening are also taught, but the focus of the class is oral communication.
How different is ILCSA’s approach from other schools?
We think it’s very different. If you studied a language in high school, you may not have had much success. In our classes, instructors use role plays, pair work, projects, learning games and class exchanges to ensure students acquire the language and become confident speakers.
Which is better, one-on-one or group classes?
It depends on your goals:
If you enjoy a social atmosphere and want to meet new people, group classes are an appropriate option.
The primary advantage of private classes is curriculum designed to address specific goals. Students maximize their participation time and progress with a customized course of study. Many business executives opt for the convenience of private language classes, but our packages are priced for everyone.
What if I have to stop taking classes in the middle of a course?
Regardless of the circumstances, students are required to complete their tuition payment as scheduled. Credit is given for a future semester.
What if I don’t pass my course?
Our programs are designed to help students achieve their goals. If you attend all classes, participate, complete homework and study, you will successfully pass the course.
What types of support and facilities do you offer?
Access to ILCSA’s multimedia labs is included in tuition. Specialized language learning software, Internet access and audio-visual resources reinforce learning concepts and help students achieve mastery of the language targets at their level.
How long does it take to learn a language?
Generally, after 60 hours of classroom instruction a complete beginner can survive in the target language.
Can anyone learn a foreign language?
Yes! Regardless of age and experience, anyone can learn a foreign language.
It is important to remember that students who are highly motivated and display good study habits tend to progress more quickly.
