Requirements
Applicants
from the United States must meet all the basic pre-medical requirements
necessary for entrance into a U.S. medical school.
A minimum of 90
semester credit hours (a baccalaureate is highly desirable)
At least:
- 8 hours
of Biology
- 8 hours
of Physics
- 8 hours
of Organic Chemistry
- 8 hours
of Inorganic Chemistry
An
overall GPA of at least 3.0.
MCAT Scores.
Additional
requirements for Puerto Rico Applicants:
- 12
hours in Social Sciences (Sociology, Psychology, Political
Sciences, Economy or Anthropology)
- 12 hours
of English
- 6 hours
of Spanish
Documentation
There are two phases of documentation when applying.
The first
phase consists of:
- Enrollment Application
Form (print form)
- Student Background Check
- Unofficial copy of
college transcript(s)
- Autobiography (2
to 10 pages personal statement)
- Unofficial MCAT scores
- Composite letter
of recommendation from the premedical advisory
committee or two letters of recommendation from science professors,
if the
advisory committee is not available.
- 2 identical passport-size
full-face photos, with white to off-white background, taken
in casual attire, in photographic paper. Do not scan.

Selection
Criteria
- By employing the
broadest range of evaluation criteria, the Admissions Department
will present qualified applicants to the Admissions Committee.
Orientation Week
- During Orientation
week you will receive information on a variety of topics,
including academic progress, student behavior and discipline,
financial information and tutorial groups.
