The
UAG closes out a very important
year and prepares to Celebrate it’s
70th Anniversary in 2005
The
year 2004 was a very important year for the Universidad
Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG). The University’s
academic activities were enhanced through a myriad of
activities focused on strengthening our academic programs.
Included
in these activities are agreements with national and international
educational institutions, government entities and business
corporations.
The
sports, cultural and academic events that took place during
this past year reflect the Universidad Autónoma
de Guadalajara’s dynamic record of always moving
forward and continuing accomplishments. Each agreement,
each contract, each achievement become part of the University’s
every growing enterprising chronicle.
Many
important figures in the academic and business world also
visited our internationally renowned institution. Some
participated in the numerous conferences, seminars, exhibits
and reunions that took place at our University and our
conference halls.
Other
activities this past year include the accomplishments
by our sports teams both at a student level and professional
level. Their awards, accolades and recognitions increased
this past year.
Our
cultural activities, geared toward the enhancement of
student campus life, excelled both in presentations within
the University and in surrounding areas of Guadalajara
and Jalisco.
Meetings,
events, social activities, student gatherings and presentations
all too numerous to outline, culminated in the celebration
of our traditions during the Christmas holidays. Our Christmas
“posadas”, re-enacting the search for lodging
by Joseph and Mary, honored our University personnel and
retirees by reiterating the importance of belonging to
our University family.
This
year we celebrate our 70th Anniversary as the first private
university in Mexico, the Universidad Autónoma
de Guadalajara.
