Good Food, Books for Sale and a Pet Show at the
UAG Welcome Picnic

In what has become a tradition at the beginning of every semester, new students of the UAG School of Medicine International Program joined in various activities at the Welcome Picnic.

The event took place on the sports fields of the Basic Science Campus. Students, friends and family members joined in the various festivities. This is always a good time to speak with Upperclassmen.

The music played all day adding a special background to those enjoying the hot dogs, hamburgers, tacos and soft drinks that were served. Incoming students were able to take advantage of the books sales offered by Upperclassmen.

A favorite event at the Picnic is the “Dog Show”. Pets are judged not only on talent but also on “Best Costume” which makes the event very enjoyable.

NASA (North American Student Association) Officers and Committee members are the main organizers of the event. During this “Picnic” students participate in cultural, social and sports activities, which combine to achieve a casual atmosphere in which students can form new friendships.
