Admissions Requirments

At UAG, we take a holistic approach in our admissions process. We do not base our decision solely on a student’s GPA & MCAT. The Admissions Committee carefully reviews each application in depth and looks into the student’s background and accomplishments through their undergraduate years.

Each applicant must have the equivalent of 90 undergraduate semester credit hours at any U.S. or Canadian college or university prior to matriculation in medical school. The Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) must have been taken within the last three years. A baccalaureate degree is not required but strongly recommended. The applicant must have completed the following courses.

 

FOR U.S. APPLICANTS

  • One year of Biology
  • One year of Inorganic Chemistry
  • One year of Organic Chemistry
  • One year of Physics
  • One year of English
  • One year of Mathematics

  • One year of Biology

  • One year of General or Inorganic Chemistry
  • One years of Organic Chemistry

  • Two years of Spanish
  • Two years of English

Applicants must submit the following documentation:

  • Enrollment application ($75 application fee)
  • Copy of birth certificate
  • Unofficial college transcript(s)
  • MCAT score(s)
  • 2 to 10 page typewritten autobiography
  • 1 passport size photo
  • A composite letter of recommendation from your premedical committee or 2 letters from your college science professors
  • Resume with information on educational background since high school, extracurricular activities, and awards.

Institutional Scholarship

UAG School of Medicine offers an Institutional Scholarship Program that is an exclusive opportunity for first-time applicants who plan to attend UAG Medical School starting from first semester.

Students who are awarded with this scholarship will receive up to $22,000 usd towards their School Tuition over four years. To see scholarship requirements click here.

Application

UAG school of Medicine encourages applications from all individuals who have the capacity and determination to learn a new language, Spanish, to experience a vibrant, exciting new culture and to achieve your goal of becoming a doctor.

At UAG we offer two starting classes each year (January and July). We do offer rolling admissions to the students; therefore they do not need to apply a year in advance.

UAG has their own application process and students do not need to apply through AMCAS but through our admissions portal. Our student advisors will work closely with prospective students throughout their application process.

  • Setup a consultation to answer your questions and provide you with a presentation and materials of the 4 year program.
  • Organize and host informational sessions for aspiring medical students in your area, or speak to student organizations, clubs, and classes.
  • Answer any questions students have about UAG, including our admissions process, curriculum, and student life.
